About HNJC

Hawaiʻi Nature Journal Club was started by Kate Righter in 2022 to promote nature journaling and connect nature journalers across the Aloha State. You can learn more about Kate here: https://katerighter.com/ or check out her Instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/katerighter/

The club has changed names a few times over the years, and now includes participants and educators from Kauaʻi, Oʻahu, Maui, and Hawaiʻi Island. We are all committed to sharing and promoting nature connection and creative education that reflects the diversity and love of our islands.

We welcome people of all abilities and backgrounds to join us. All you need to do is bring your own journal or sketchbook and join the fun! Certain activities or workshops are limited to adults only, or to ages 12 & up. Participants are always responsible for the behavior and safety of themselves and their guests.

Reach out if you’re interested in leading events, workshops, or sharing learning resources! You are also more than welcome to host your own nature journaling events. If you do, please let us know so we can attend, and help advertise!
